Hutchinson Man Killed in Collision

WEB Deputies, Fire Department, and EMS Respond to K-61 Incident

WEB Deputies along with fire department and EMS personnel responded at around 9:30 pm Monday to an injury accident at K-61 and Herren Road. The sheriff's office says it appears the pair were riding northeast on K-61 toward Hutchinson on a 2007 Harley Davidson Street Glide when for an unknown reason the rider left the road.

The motorcyclist was identified as 58-year-old Ryan Simpson of Hutchinson. KWCH reported that Simpson died in the collision. The Kansas Highway Patrol is still on the scene of a separate multi-vehicle crash on K-61 near Arapaho Road, resulting in a highway shutdown.

In a third incident, KSNW reported a fatal motorcycle crash on Tuesday night in Hutchinson. The fatality occurred near 4th and Plum around 7:30 pm. The details of this incident are still emerging.
