In a hard-fought battle at the Smoothie King Center, the New Orleans Pelicans narrowly defeated the Memphis Grizzlies 116-115 on Tuesday night. Brandon Ingram led the Pelicans with 24 points, along with 7 assists and 6 rebounds.
CJ McCollum also contributed 24 points for New Orleans, while Zion Williamson added 23 points and 7 rebounds. The Grizzlies were led by Ja Morant's 34 points, but it wasn't enough to overcome the balanced attack of the Pelicans.
The game was closely contested throughout, with neither team leading by more than 10 points. The Grizzlies took a 5-point lead with under 4 minutes remaining, but the Pelicans rallied back. McCollum hit a crucial 3-pointer to tie the game, and Ingram followed with a jumper to give New Orleans the lead with just over a minute to play.
The Grizzlies had a chance to tie the game in the final seconds, but Desmond Bane's 3-point attempt came up short, sealing the victory for the Pelicans.
With the win, the Pelicans improve to 21-14 on the season, while the Grizzlies fall to 19-16. New Orleans will host the San Antonio Spurs on Thursday night, while Memphis will travel to face the Los Angeles Lakers on Friday night.
